Boreham Wood's scheduled home game against Torquay was postponed due to the shared use of their ground with Arsenal, whose manager Mikel Arteta tested positive for coronavirus.

Halifax lost 1-0 to Ebbsfleet on Saturday, with the National League allowing this weekend's fixtures to go ahead despite the Premier League and Football League suspending their games.

"My understanding is, at the moment, that it won't, for their ongoing circumstances," said the Town chairman on the prospect of the Boreham Wood game being played.

"I'm not saying that the fixtures elsewhere won't go ahead, it depends if and when the Goverment changes their advice, and whether it covers a thousand fans in a game, or two thousand.

"If it's two thousand, for example, the majority of the fixtures can take place."

On whether he agreed with the National League's decision to allow their games to be played this weekend, Bosomworth said: "To be honest, yes I did. I know not everybody's of that ilk.

"From a health point of view, following Government guidelines, there was a feeling that games could be played.

"But obviously some football authorities made the decision to cancel the fixtures.

"We followed the guidelines, but there's some difficult decisions to be made going forward and we'll have to wait and see.

"From a financial viewpoint, it's absolutely vital for clubs at this level because we don't have the benefit of the large central distributions.

"There's no fat on the back, you're living from one week to the next to make sure you've enough money to cover your VAT, your PAYE, your NI and everything else, and your wages at the end of the month.

"We've got Wrexham (at home) to come in a fortnight and we've got Barrow (at home) on Good Friday, who would be bringing about a thousand fans.

"So for us, we've had very poor (gate) receipts against Bromley and Sutton, but these are the games that would help bring a bit of funds back in.

"If they're not going to happen, that makes it really difficult for us."

Chief Executive Officer of The National League, Michael Tattersall, said tonight (Saturday): "Our thoughts are with the players and staff of our Clubs who are self-isolating or otherwise affected by the coronavirus.

"The National League is keeping the continuation of the season under constant review and will provide a further update in due course."
