It’s a sunny late spring evening at The Shay, the pitch is looking good, the nerves are building. Everything’s in place for a dramatic evening.

Highlights from Chesterfield’s last game - a 0-0 draw at home to Woking

We’ll find out in around half an hour or so but it didn’t sound like Tom Bradbury or Luke Summerfield would be involved tonight. Town used a back three at Stockport but I’d expect a back four tonight with Warren, Debrah, Maher and Senior. Sounded like Kieran Green would be fit, so you’d expect him and Kian Spence in midfield and then the front four probably picks itself with Slew, Warburton, Gilmour and Waters. Let’s see

Here we go then. It all comes down to this. PW has said it’s an evenly-balanced tie and I would tend to agree with that. Town have to be considered favourites given league positions, home form and Chesterfield’s form of late. But there will be nerves, it will be edgy and tense and tight. If Town play at their best or close to it, you’d have to fancy them to get through. Chesterfield will probably think set-pieces are their best route to goal, they’ve scored a lot of goals from set plays this season and will have height in their team, especially if Tom Denton starts. Hopefully it’s a bumper crowd tonight and they cheer The Shaymen onto victory.

We’ll bring you all the updates throughout the evening, plus there will be an on-the-whistle match report and post-match reaction from Town boss Pete Wild
