But Heath is wary of Town slipping into any kind of comfort zone after their superb run of form.

“You just keep ticking over and as long as the lads keep the standards up - what you can’t do is take your foot off the gas and think it’s easy,” he said.

“Every team that play Halifax - it’s a big game for them and they want to beat us.

“They raise themselves and they get after us.

“We’ve got to keep doing the right things and keep working hard - it’s about doing the basics right and working extremely hard for each other.

“The most worrying thing for us is the lack of defensive cover because we’ve got three defensive players out.

“We’re very thin on the ground.”

Josh Macdonald sustained a minor knee injury at Boston but is expected to be fit

Cliff Moyo came off with cramp on Saturday but is also expected to be fit.

Kevin Roberts will miss the game but could be in contention for the game with Brackley on Saturday, while fellow defender Danny Hone is still two or three weeks away from fitness.

FC United are 13th in the table after recording an impressive 2-0 win at Kidderminster at the weekend - only their fourth win in 15 league games this season.

Manager Karl Marginson has been in charge of the club since it was formed in 2005, and has former Halifax players Harry Winter and Dale Johnson in his squad.

Halifax beat FC United 4-1 the last time the two clubs met at The Shay back in 2011 thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy (pictured), Lee Gregory, Richard Marshall and Nathan Taylor in front of 4,023 fans.
