FC Halifax Town: We won't take Nantwich lightly, says Bosomworth

Halifax travel to The Weaver Stadium tomorrow just 180 minutes from Wembley and face a team ninth in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Bosomworth has already seen The Dabbers in action this season and isn’t expecting an easy ride into the final.

“Now we’ve got Southport and Bromley out of the way we can focus on what is a very important game on Saturday for both clubs,” he said.

“They will be incredibly tough opponents. They’ve done well in their league this season and they’ve got some good players.

“Their fans will be up for it but it’s absolutely vital that our fans turn out in support for both legs and we have as many supporters there as possible.

“No-one will underestimate Nantwich. We watched them beat Bradford Park Avenue 5-0 and Bradford didn’t get a kick, so they can score goals.

“They will be tough opponents and we’ll have to be at our best.

“Our players won’t need any lifting for this game but we know whatever happens it will only be half-time.”

Town have already earned £26,000 in prize money from the FA Trophy so far this season.

If they reach the final, that total will rise to at least £67,000, reaching £117,000 if they win the competition.

Bosomworth says any extra revenue generated from the Trophy will help with the running costs of the club.

He added: “It’s not the FA Cup, let’s be honest, but any prize money that is provided will help.

“Some goes into the players’ pool but the rest is additional revenue for the club, which is needed.

“We’ve faced a lot of increased costs this season, such as travel expenses, paying for player loans and increased stewarding costs, which is one of the major factors in the running of the club.”
