FC Halifax Town: Wild could recall Spence from loan at Scarborough

Town boss Pete Wild says he could recall midfielder Kian Spence from his loan at Scarborough if he can’t add any new signings to his squad before Saturday’s trip to Solihull.

Wild still has a handful of players unavailable for the game as they are self-isolating, having developed Covid-19 symptoms.

Jamie Allen and Jack Senior are both expected to return to training this week having missed Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to Wealdstone, but Danny Williams will be suspended this weekend after being sent-off on Tuesday, while Gevaro Nepomuceno is on international duty with Curacao.

Jeff King, who was also sent-off against Wealdstone, could also be banned, depending on the outcome of an appeal.

Wild says he expects any additions to his squad to be loan deals, but if he is unable to add to his squad, he could recall Spence from his loan deal.

”We may do, it depends if we can recruit a couple of lads this week,” he said.

“We’re actively trying to get players in, but if we can’t then Kian becomes an option.

“I’d have no problems throwing Kian in because he’s been excellent in training.”
