Aspin wants to see more of the same

Neil Aspin is calling for a repeat performance from his FC Halifax Town side at Harrogate on Saturday (March 23, 3pm kick-off), two weeks after their previous meeting.

The Shaymen dominated the game at the Shay but lost 2-1 to their play-off rivals, who sit one point and one place below Town in the table having played three games more.

Goals from Matt Bloomer and Paul Bolland put the visitors ahead before Dan Gardner’s goal heralded a Town fightback that somehow failed to produce an equaliser.

Aspin said: “The performance against Harrogate was very good, the players couldn’t have done any more.

“You’d just like to think that the luck we didn’t get in the first game, we’re going to get on Saturday.

“But if the players play to the level they did in the first game against Harrogate then I can’t ask for any more, but you’re hoping you get a bit of luck.”

Jon Worthington could be in line to feature after missing the last two games with an ankle injury, but Liam Hogan is still two weeks away from first-team action with a medial ligament problem.

Both sides go into the match on the back of away wins in midweek, with Halifax beating Colwyn Bay 3-0 and Harrogate winning 2-0 at Bishop’s Stortford.
