Rob Brown

Man of the match - Ryan Johnson (Referee) - The referee was the star of the show on Saturday. He may be overweight and constantly behind the play but he made a massive impact on the game booking 4 Shaymen before halftime. Perhaps the worst referee to appear at the Shay this decade.

Moment of the match - 1st minute - With the inept referee starting the game two minutes early some fans missed Matty Kosylo’s goal within the opening minute. The only highlight of a frustrating afternoon.

Moan of the match - With four players booked in the first half, the second half was played without the usual tempo; perhaps some players were more worried about getting a second yellow card than winning the cup tie.

Man of the match – Jake Hibbs was the pick of the team, although he missed his midfield partner Collins badly. However, it must be difficult for a team whose Manager ships out three men in a week, and then complains we are short of players...

Moment of the match – Matt Kosylo scoring the opener in the first minute. The game started well before 3pm, so we were actually leading before kick-off time!

Moan of the match – Referee Ryan Johnson, who made the black shirt less popular than Oswald Mosley ever did. He failed to keep up with play, and even though both teams fouled regularly and with similar severity, he booked four of our players in the first half but none from Maidenhead. Added to this, he missed an obvious penalty on Denton, but gave one for a non-existent foul by Brown. Simply pathetic.

Man of the match - Jake Hibbs stood out, particularly in the first half, at one point he was clearly through on goal until he was brought down and the referee decided he had dived. One of many debatable decisions.

Moment of the match - In the first minute Matty Kosylo scored an excellent goal, I’m sure at this point I wasn’t the only one who thought this was going to be the start of a great afternoon for the Shaymen!

Moan of the match - This has to be, without doubt, the performance of the referee. As with all other officials they must know about a rule we are not aware of that if a 6ft 7 striker is fouled it can be overlooked! It isn’t acceptable that fans are paying to see their team play week after week and games are being spoiled by the officials. The busiest man at the match yesterday must have been the assessor.
