Caretaker-manager Neil Young has confirmed Town defender Josh Wilde is set to miss Saturday’s game at league leaders Wrexham with a knee injury.

Young says Wilde has been playing with the injury for a while, and is due to go for a scan to see the full extent of the damage.

“He’s done really well in the games I’ve watched him in,” said Young.

“I saw him at Tranmere earlier in the season and he was excellent, so it’s a blow.

“He wouldn’t have been able to play last Saturday.”

There is better news concerning centre-back Martin Riley though.

Young added: “He’s on the comeback trail now. He’ll be joining in with the warm-up on Saturday, and we’re waiting to hear from his consultant.”
