FC Halifax Town’s Conference North clash with Corby Town scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Shaymen were able to fulfil their Boxing Day fixture with Gainsborough Trinity on Wednesday, despite the game ending with puddles on the pitch which cut up badly as the rain came down.

Town boss Neil Aspin admitted straight after the 3-1 win that several days of dry weather would be needed to get the game against struggling Corby on - but instead more rain has fallen, meaning once again the Shay pitch is unplayable.

Town are due to be in action on New Year’s Day when they take on Gainsborough again, this time at Northolme, which copes with heavy rain better than most Conference North pitches.
