Town boss Billy Heath is pleased with the attitude his players have shown in their first two games, but wants his defence to tighten up.
Halifax have scored five and conceded four in their opening two games - a 3-2 win at Nuneaton and a 2-2 draw with Altrincham.
Town came from behind twice on Tuesday night, something which pleased Heath.
He said: “The attitude and desire has been fantastic and I was pleased with us coming back into the game on Tuesday.
“I didn’t think we were getting the run of the ball throughout the game.
“The ball bounced in their favour and it always seemed to fall to their players.
“But we recovered twice and in the last 25 minutes the game was all ours. We pushed and pushed.
“We’ve scored five goals which is always a good sign and we’ve got goals in us.”
Howeever, the Town boss concedes his team cannot afford to be as generous defensively as they have been so far this campaign.
He added: “I’m disappointed with the goals against tally.
“We’ve given away cheap goals in both games.
“We’ve got to tighten up but that’s not just down to the defence but the whole team.”
