Former FC Halifax Town boss Billy Heath has been appointed as the new boss of National League North side Alfreton.

Heath will be joined by his long-time assistant manager Mark Carroll. The duo guided Halifax to promotion from the National League North in 2017, but were sacked by the club in January.

Alfreton finished 17th in the Conference North this season, only three points above the relegation zone.

Heath could now link-up with the likes of Tom Denton, Tom Nicholson, Danny Clarke and Josh Wilde - all of whom Heath signed for Halifax from North Ferriby but are now without a club after being released by The Shaymen.
