FC Halifax Town travel to take on Aldershot Town in a Vanarama Conference clash tonight with the hosts enjoying a decent spell of form.
While the Shaymen are without a win and a goal in three games, after drawing with Kidderminster and Dartford and losing to Southport, the Shots are unbeaten in five games with their latest result a highly-creditable 0-0 draw at Macclesfield last Saturday.
That run has lifted the hosts up to 18th in the table and given them an air of confidence going into tonight’s game.
However, assistant coach Matt Gray has watched Town several times and will warn his players that the Shaymen are certain to provide a tough test.
Gray is acutely aware of the talent at Town boss Neil Aspin’s disposal and added that, with a late push for the play-off’s still on the Shaymen’s agenda, tonight’s game will be viewed as important for both sides.
Town won the first meeting between the two teams in September when Ross Dyer netted the only goal late in the second half.
Meanwhile, Ttriker Brett Williams is a man Town will need to watch having netted 12 goals so far this season
Brighouse Town’s re-scheduled Evo-Stik NPL Division One match at New Mills last night will have to be re-arranged again after the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
