Boss Neil Aspin will hold a roll call of players when they meet up for training tonight.
The Shay chief was without Lee Gregory (hamstring) and Liam Needham (groin) before Tuesday’s game against Nuneaton.
Jamie Rainford (ankle) limped out of the action after just 30 minutes of the 3-0 defeat which saw Town slip to third in the Blue Square Bet North.
And it is likely to be Saturday morning before Aspin knows if any of the trio will be fit to face Nuneaton in the return clash between the sides at Liberty Way.
“We would like to get a couple of players fit who were missing on Tuesday,” said Aspin.
“Jamie took a blow on his ankle and had to come off so that was disappointing.
“Liam Needham was unfit before the game started and Lee Gregory could still feel his hamstring after his fitness test.
“All in all, it was not a great night and not great that we have players struggling.
“But we will not make excuses - we just have to get on with it and cope.”
There was a glimmer of good news for Aspin with skipper Tom Baker returning to league action from the bench.
It was more than a month since Baker’s last appearances in the league, although he had a game in the West Riding Cup at Guiseley.
“You could say it was a plus that we got Tom involved for half an hour,” said Aspin. “And he will benefit from that.
“You would like to see Tom back to his best because he would improve us in midfield, there is no doubt about that.
“But other players have to do better.”
With other players carrying less serious knocks - Liam Hogan and Aaron Hardy both required treatment on the pitch on Tuesday and Scott McManus had gone into the game after recovering from a sore groin - the amount of preparation Aspin can do towards the weekend’s game will be limited this evening.
“It will not be a night when we will be doing shape work,” he said. “We won’t have enough bodies to do that. We need to recuperate and go again on Saturday.
“It is not nice when you lose at home, but there are some decent teams in our league. Nuneaton have got some good players.”
Town fans wishing to book a place on the official supporters coach to Nuneaton on Saturday can still do so by calling the travel line on 07707 143094. Transport will leave the Shay at 11th and the cost will be £16.
