FC Halifax Town will launch their second bid to win the Blue Square Bet North title tomorrow.

Neil Aspin’s side face the longest away fixture first when they complete the almost 400 mile round trip to Bishop’s Stortford of Hertfordshire.

The Shaymen have been in fantastic form during pre-season, winning seven out of their eight games and scoring 21 goals in the process.

After the Bishop’s test, Town face Colwyn Bay at the Shay on Tuesday night before a home game with Workington on August 25.

But Aspin said Town would be taking things one game at a time.

“You can never focus on two games, you just focus on the next game,” he said.

“It’s always nice to get the season started with a win but we have a difficult start.

“The Stortford game will be difficult, they’ll close us down and tackle hard, but we’ve got some good players and we’ve got to make sure we’re ready.

“It’s going to be a tough season but I expect us to be challenging at the right end of the table,” he said.

Danny Lowe and Dale Johnson, who missed the win at North Ferriby, should both be fit for tomorrow.
