Shaymen back to winning ways

Halifax Town 3 Harrogate Town 1

Town returned to winning ways in Blue Square Bet North as they eased past Harrogate in the Yorkshire derby at the Shay.

The visiotrs hit the woodwork after 10 minutes, a Laurie Wilson shot from long range coming back off the bar, and were ahead midway through the first half when Ryan Toulson’s clearance off the line struck Chib Chilaka and rolled over the line.

But the Shaymen responded well and levelled just before the half hour when Aron Wint fired home on his debut from a Scott McManus cross.

And they were ahead two minutes later, McManus threading a pass through to Danny Holland who slid the ball home from 10 yards.

The Shaymen had to wait until the 75th minute for their third goal, Dean slamming home from another McManus cross.
