Shaymen beat Ossett Albion in West Riding County Cup

FC Halifax Town thrashed Ossett Albion 8-1 in the second round of the West Riding County Cup.

Town had eight different scorers and were 4-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Shiraz Khan, Jack Johnson, Elliott Harrison and Matty Kosylo.

The lead was extended after the interval through Isaac Baldwin, Richard Peniket, who captained the side, and substitutes James Sunderland and Marko Basic.

Ossett got a goal back through Nathan Joynes.

Halifax will now play Silsden in the third round.
