Shaymen cruise past Hinckley

Halifax Town 6 Hinckley Utd 1

James Walshaw bagged a hat-trick as Town stormed to a third successive league win with a crushing victory over Hinckley.

The Shaymen took a ninth minute lead with a sumptuous strike from the edge of the area from Jamie Rainford.

But Hinckley could have levelled just before the midway point of the first half when Simon Eastwood had to save from dangerman Andre Gray.

Two goals in three minutes from Walshaw appeared to make the game safe only for Andre Gray to pull one back just before the break.

Walshaw completed his hat-trick on the hour and Rainford bagged his second two minutes later as the Shaymen forced home their superiority.

Substitute Lee Gregory volleyed home Town’s sixth from close range with five minutes remaining and two minutes later the visitors were reduced to 10 men when substuitute Matt Langham was shown a straight red card for a lunge at Luke Ashworth.
