Shaymen get much-needed home win

Halifax Town 2 Eastwood 1

Two goals from Lee Gregory gave Town a much-needed win, but they endured a nerve-jangling final quarter after allowing Eastwood back into the game

Town made the perfect start when Lee Gregory turned well after getting on the end of Ryan Toulson pass on the right and curled a shot beyond the keeper with his left foot.

The Shaymen continued to dominate, with debutants Jason St Juste and James Marwood impressing, but were unable to add to their tally before the break.

They did so six minutes after the break when Gregory rose well to head home a Simon Garner free kick from the right hand side.

But Eastwood pulled a goal back after 65 minutes when substitute Jarrod Westcarr raced clear on the left and fired home.

And they had their chances to level, notably from an Alex Troke free kick and a Jason Bradley header.
