FC Halifax Town host Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night (7.45pm) in the first of two home friendlies this week.

Town are unbeaten in pre-season so far but will face their strongest test so far against the League One club.

Boss Darren Kelly is in his first managerial role having been appointed in May after leaving his post as academy coach at Sunderland.

Halifax winger Connor Hughes will play against his old club. The pacey left-sided midfielder made eight appearances for Oldham under Paul Dickov in the 2012-13 season before being released by The Latics.

Oldham have made some decent signings this summer, including midfielder George Green from Everton and striker Jake Cassidy from Wolves.

They have lost to Blackburn and Bolton so far in pre-season but beat Stirling Albion 5-0 and Chester 1-0.

Oldham finished 15th in League One last season, just seven points above the drop zone.

Halifax then host League Two York on Saturday (3pm).
