FC Halifax Town striker Dan Maguire has completed a switch back his former club Blyth Spartans, just over two months after moving in the opposite direction.
Maguire, Town’s first signing of the summer, scored 31 goals in 56 games for Spartans in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier last season.
He was the Supporters’ Club player of the season for the last three years and played for the England C representative side.
He has also been Blyth’s top scorer for the last two seasons and part of the league’s team of the year in 2014.
But the move turned sour after the forward found it difficult to make the 350-mile round trip for training as well as carry on his job away from football.
Blyth boss Tom Wade had said in recent weeks he believed Maguire had made the wrong choice in joining The Shaymen.
