PATIENTS on a hospital ward at Calderdale Royal Hospital have been given free match tickets from FC Halifax Town.

The club has formed strong links with the Elmdale ward – a 24-bed unit for adults experiencing mental distress.

Town donated tickets so patients can take part in leisure activities to help them feel less isolated.

Occupational therapist Kath Nichols said: “Staff are keen to ensure there are a variety of opportunities for people admitted to the ward. We work hard to promote the importance of engaging in enjoyable leisure activities to enhance wellbeing.

“We’re extremely grateful to Halifax Town.”
