FC Halifax Town make their annual Boxing Day (3pm) trip to Gateshead with both sides on the verge of breaking into the top-five.

Only four teams have conceded more home goals than Gateshead in the division, although only four clubs have scored fewer goals on their travels than Halifax.

Gateshead have won three of their last five games in all competitions, but have won only two of their last 10 in the league.

They have just one win from their last five home outings, but Town’s away record isn’t much better, with four defeats in their last six matches on the road.

Town have won only once in their last 12 visits to Gateshead, with Matt Pearson scoring in last season’s 1-1 draw.

A win for either side could lift them into the play-offs.
