Town’s FA Trophy game against Maidstone United looks set to go ahead tonight at the Shay (7.45pm).

The game was postponed from last Saturday after more flooding on the problematic pitch.

But after 72 relatively dry hours, the game looks set to finally be played.

Boss Neil Aspin will be without striker Dale Johnson after the striker injured his medial ligaments at Worcester 10 days ago.

Jason Jarrett is expected to return after missing that game, and fellow absentee Paul Marshall will also be hoping to be involved.

With Dale out, Aspin will have to decide who to play beind Lee Gregory and Gareth Seddon, as young striker Alex Johnson is cup tied.

That could mean a first competitive start for Dan Gardner as he continues his return from injury.

Should Town win the game they will face Chelmsford City of the Blue Square South at home in the third round on Saturday January 12.

Should tonight’s game end level, a replay will be held at Maidstone on January 8.
