Here is the Fans Panel’s verdict after FC Halifax Town’s 4-2 defeat at Tranmere Rovers.

Andrew Mann

Man of the match - The new lad Batty looked decent at times, good passing and work rate, very enthusiastic.

Moan of the match - Conceding so soon after getting it back to 2-1, we conceded some awful goals.

Moment of the match - Brown’s header to get us back in the game, although not for long.

Kit Walton

Man of the match – I flatly refuse to name one today. Most players made the effort, but for some reason they don’t seem to know what they are trying to achieve, which leads to an obvious conclusion.

Moment of the match – Quarter of an hour gone, Norwood turns up in the right place, again unmarked. We already look beaten, and the team just shrugs its shoulders and carries on as if its inevitable.

Moan of the match – Team selection is puzzling. Morgan has been ineffective without Denton’s presence, so why drop him when Denton returns? We also pick a defender who isn’t trusted by his teammates, so the whole defence panics when he plays. Most alarmingly, we have returned to the tactics which failed to work at the season’s start. No surprise to most fans that we’ve gone seven games without a win. Maybe there’s someone from North Ferriby who would improve things?

Rob Brown

Man of the match - Dan Batty; started slowly but became stronger and more influential as the game progressed. Looked great going forward in the second half as the Shaymen tried to get back into the game. A great loan signing.

Moment of the match - 53rd minute; seconds after Shaymen had scored to make it 2-1 some poor defending gifted Tranmere a third goal. Game over.

Moan of the match - Tranmere were great for the first 20 minutes then very ordinary for the rest of the game. Two goals away from home should be enough to earn a point for the Shaymen but silly mistakes gifted the points to Tranmere.
