Former Halifax loanee Devante Rodney signs for Port Vale

Former FC Halifax Town loanee Devante Rodney has joined League Two side Port Vale after being released by Salford.

Rodney netted seven goals in 12 games on loan at The Shay during the 2018-19 season, and followed that up with another five goals in eight appearances this season.

Most Town fans were hoping a deal could be struck for the popular forward to make his move to Halifax permanent, but instead he has joined Vale, who finished eighth in League Two last season, just one place outside the play-offs.

He will be facing Halifax next season if The Shaymen are promoted through the National League play-offs.
