Halifax AFL: Crossleys are the latest side to try and stop pace-setters Shelf

Premier Division leaders Shelf United travel to AFC Crossleys with a 100 per cent record after five outings.

Football - Shelf United v Northowram. Billy Grogan for Shelf and Shannon Tudor for Northowram.

They have been scoring goals for fun with 26 coming in their last four games.

Oliver Coates, with seven, and Tom Robinson, with six, have led the way.

Crossleys cannot be disappointed with their start in the top flight but this could be their toughest test to date.

Football - Greetland v Hebden Royd Red Star. Red Star's James Chadwick gets his head on a corner ball.

A big clash takes place at Westwood Park where third place Shelf FC host second placed Sowerby Bridge.

The visitors have won all four of their games so far with Shelf FC winning four of their five. It promises to be a close affair in a game where the stakes are high.

Midgley United take on a Greetland side that has lost all five games since their opening day win.

If Midgley can add more misery for them it would boost their own hopes of a top half finish.

Sowerby United travel to Hebden Royd Red Star still without a point and only scoring three goals in the four games to date. Hebden Royd will be looking forward to the game.

Hebden Royd Red Star Res have made a strong start in the First Division and have a one point lead at the top over St Columbas, who played two games less.

Red Star travel to Denholme United for what could be a far from easy game.

St Columbas take on Flying Dutchman who despite not having picked up a point yet could be hard to beat.

Calder 76 face Illingworth St Mary’s in a game both sides need a win from if they are to retain an interest in the promotion race.

Both Shelf United Res and Midgley United Res have bad starts and home advantage may just tip the result Shelf’s way.

Undefeated Second Division leaders AFC Crossleys Res visit Sowerby United Res.

Sowerby had a good win last week but confidence will be high in the Crossleys camp and they may prove too strong for the hosts.

Warley Rangers are proving the surprise package this season and have climbed to second in the table.

However they face a tough test at third placed Sowerby Bridge Res. Greetland Res will be looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat when they host St Columbas Res.

Thornton CC are showing signs of improvement and could well come out on top against Calder 76 Res.
