Halifax v Nuneaton preview

FC Halifax Town could move back into the play-off places if they beat Nuneaton at The Shay on Saturday (3pm).

The Shaymen have won four of their last five games and are one place and two points below the play-off places in the National League North.

Nuneaton won eight games in a row shortly after manager Tommy Wright was appointed in November, but have lost their last three matches on the trot.

Winger Josh Macdonald, striker Tom Denton and utility man Nathan Hotte will all miss tomorrow’s game.

Macdonald and Denton were both injured in training last Thursday, with Macdonald sustaining a hamstring injury that is expected to rule him out for at least another two weeks.

Denton landed awkwardly in that training session, sustaining a badly bruised heel which is expected to keep him out until next Saturday’s trip to Worcester.

Hotte has a tweaked thigh muscle with should keep him out for at least another two weeks.

Billy Heath’s biggest decision is expected to be who partners Scott Garner at centre-back, with Danny Hone available after his four-game suspension and Matty Brown having successfully completed his first full game since last May in the win at Altrincham last week.

A Tom Denton hat-trick sealed a 3-2 opening day win for Halifax at Nuneaton back in August.
