“It’s a cracking draw,” said Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver.

“There’s probably easier draws out there but we are at home which is what we wanted.”

Town reached the fourth qualifying round stage with a comfortable 3-0 win over Burscough on Saturday, with goals for Louie Swain, Dom Knowles and Brendon Daniels.

Town has a close association with Grimsby, who sit just outside the play-off zone in Vanarama National North, with assistant manager John McDermott a club legend at Blundell Park.

Grimsby was McDermott’s solitary club throughout a 20-year playing career, in which he made 647 appearances for the Black and Whites.

Weaver added: “We were straight on the phone after the draw.

“He is really looking forward to it. He played there all his career and is an absolute legend there.

“That will put even more on the game.

“It’s a great game for Macca.”

The two sides last met in a pre-season friendly in July 2014, with Grimbsy winning 2-0.
