Hollins Holme appear to have the perfect opportunity to bounce back from last weekend’s cup reversal when they host Stallions this weekend.

Hollins are fifth in Division One of the Halifax Sunday League and Stallions next to bottom prior to the meeting at Calder Holmes.

The hosts were beaten but far from disgraced when losing 3-1 away to division-higher Halifax Hammers in the Briggs Priestley Engravers Senior Cup four days ago.

In windy conditions, the visitors looked well organised in defence and took the lead on 30 minutes when a good cross from left was headed in by James Cowans. However, Hammers turned it around in the second half with goals from Irfan Afzal, sub Kashif Akmal and Jasim Salah.

Royd Club were beaten 4-2 at home by Ryburn Valley, who are now second in Division One.

In Division Two, Hebden Bridge host unbeaten leaders North Bridge at White Lee Rec on Sunday with their confidence boosted by a 5-1 win away to Feathers.

Feathers drew first blood via Paul Lynch from a corner but once Gav Martin had equalised it was one-way traffic.

Goals from John Gibson, Matty Marsden, Jamie Newby and Martin took them clear.
