Both won comfortably at the weekend, Bridge by 5-1 at home to Royd Club.

Wayne Crossley ‘bent it like Beckham’ from a free kick for the opening goal on 15 minutes.

Royd Club hit back with an excellent overhead kick before Slater Barnes made it 2-1 before half time.

Crossley knocked in a corner with his shoulder just after the interval before completing his hat-trick 10 minutes, later latching onto a long ball to fire into the bottom corner.

Andy Blakey’s side got a fifth when Tye Hewson blasted in a Crossley cut back from 12 yards out.

Mount Tabor won 4-1 at Bradshaw while Triangle made it two out of two with a 3-2 success in a very entertaining game at Queens Head.

Triangle were in early control, with man of the match Alex Brown pulling the strings.

Brown had several efforts before Queens Head took the lead against the run of play, Jay Thomas drawing Dan Pummel and knocking the ball past the keeper.

Just before half time Luke Flannigan’s cross was punched out by Craig Chew, straight to Brown who calmly steered it in to the net for 1-1.

Lee Emmit headed Queens straight back in front and they had several efforts which might have produced a goal after the break, only for Brown to cross and a defender turn the ball into his own net for 2-2.

Five minutes from the end a free kick was curled high into the penalty area and with goalkeeper Craig Chew blinded by the sun, Danny Watson headed Triangle’s winner.

Ma Bakers FC notched an early-season hat-trick in Division Two with a 6-4 win over Old Pond Reserves.

Both teams played some really good football but Ma Bakers had most of the possession.

Sam Halstead (two), Andy Salm, Robert Morrison (two) and captain Anthony McManamin got the Ma Bakers goals while Richard Dawson, Frank Cullen, Sean Suttle and Wayne Allert replied.

Stand-in ‘keeper Jason Kerry had a fine match for the winners while Salm was outstanding and rewarded by his goal from long range.
