Old Boys lost 3-1 at home to Horbury Town in the Premier Division last night, a disappointment after their creditable 1-1 draw at Leeds City at the weekend.

Elland side Huddersfield Amateur, promoted to Division One as champions, started with a 1-0 defeat at Boroughbridge last Saturday.

They created four one on ones in the first half but could not convert any and the home side scored the only goal with 10 minutes left.

Last night they drew 2-2 at home to Hartshead FC.

All of the goals came in a 10 minute period midway through the first half. Hartshead scored following a hopeful long ball which caught out the home defence.

Five minutes later a carbon copy of the visitors’ first goal was scored.
