King’s Lynn sign striker ahead of Shaymen visit

FC Halifax Town’s opponents on Saturday have bolstered their squad with the signing of former Chesterfield forward Alex Kiwomya.

The 24-year-old was released by Chesterfield last month and is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game, having trained with King’s Lynn for the first time today (Tuesday).

He has signed a deal until the end of the season with another year’s option.

Kiwomya, nephew of former Ipswich Town player Chris Kiyomya, began his career in the youth ranks at Chelsea and has since appeared in Leagues One and Two with the likes of Barnsley – where his father Andy played - Crewe and Doncaster.

He joined Chesterfield in October, but left after the departure of manager John Pemberton, having scored once in five appearances this season.
