Ladies football: Debra Slater nets third treble in Wetherby Athletic win

Wetherby Athletic Ladies maintained their winning streak in the North East Regional Women’s League South with a convincing 5-1 win against Rovers Foundation on Sunday.

Wetherby showed excellent composure, with a display of great passing and possession play.

The only goal for Rovers came in the 80th minute against the run of play.

Former Leeds United Ladies forward Debra Slater scored her third hat-trick in three games for Wetherby, with Helen Hartley and Janni Botten also adding to the tally.

Player of the match went to central midfielder HelenHartley.

Meanwhile, Athletic’s second string obliterated Republica Ladies 15-2 in their opening league game of the new season.
