Victory took Ovenden seven points clear of Bay Athletic, whose game at home to Halifax Irish was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Halifax FA Saturday Cup winners Ovenden need to win their last match of the season on Tuesday to be crowned champions.

However, it could hardly be a more difficult game as they are away to fifth-placed Steeton, who are through to a county cup final against Field at Woodlesford six days later.

Bay have still to play Irish, Storthes Hall and Golcar.
