Oxford City v FC Halifax Town LIVE

My eyesight is notoriously awful but I think I can see Ryan Galvin in the travelling Town party

Dale Baines has shown 42 yellow cards and one red card in 16 games this season. This is his first season at National League level and he is yet to take charge of an FC Halifax Town match.

Highlights from Oxford's last game - a 2-0 defeat at Chesterfield

You learn to never expect anything in the National League when it's the kind of division in which Dorking can beat Chesterfield 4-1, but it feels about as close as it can be to expecting a Halifax win today. Not only are Town in their best form of the season having won five of their last six games but Oxford have lost the most, won the fewest and conceded the most in the fifth tier this season and are all-but relegated. It should be a fairly routine win on paper at least.

The race for the play-offs

If Tuesday night's results didn't go Town's way, I'd say yesterday was much better, with Oldham drawing against Chesterfield and Gateshead and Aldershot both losing, although Altrincham won at Boreham Wood, which wasn't ideal. Now it's over to The Shaymen, who really need three points at rock bottom Oxford City, which would take them to within a point of the top seven. WIth Chesterfield to come on Wednesday night, you really feel Town need a win here, on't telly.
