Beesley, who made 32 appearances for Town during a two-year spell from 2011 to 2013, currently plies his trade at Vanarama Conference North rivals Gainsborough Trinity and is their leading league scorer with six goals this campaign.

He will continue to play for Trinity whilst helping coach the Under 21 side.

Former under 21 head coach Mike Bligh has stepped down from the role after taking over as Knaresborough Town’s reserve team manager.

He will, however, continue to work at Town as club secretary as well as continuing to be head of Harrogate Town AFC’s Football Development.

Lewis Atkinson has been promoted to head coach of the Under 21’s with Beesley working alongside.

At present, the Under 21’s lie in fifth position in the West Riding County F.A. U21 Floodlit League. They next turn out in the cup against Beeston St Anthony’s on November 24 (kick off 20:15 at St Mary’s High School, Leeds).

Talking about Beesley’s arrival, Bligh said: “The appointment of Paul was an easy one, Paul has the determination, knowledge and enthusiasm required to further enhance our already successful development set up,

“Paul can count on the full backing and support of the development staff as he gets used to working with the various squads.”
