Lee Gregory opened the scoring for Town on three minutes before Lois Maynard doubled the advantage on 16 minutes. Gregory bagged his second eight minutes into the second half and completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot on 72 minutes.
City grabbed a consolation through Jamie White on 78 minutes but Town finished things off with a fifth from Josh Wilson in the closing stages.
