Second round of games to take place in Halifax AFL

Both sides started the season with emphatic wins and should there be a winner of this it would send out an early warning to sides with promotion ambitions.

Denholme United play their first game of the season when they host Shelf United Res and will be looking to make a winning start.

Illingworth St Mary’s have their first outing with a trip to Midgley United Res.

Hebden Royd Red Star Res and Flying Dutchman were both beaten in their opening games and both will be hoping for a change of fortunes.

AFC Crossleys Res had a big win last Saturday and if they can follow that up with another when they travel to Thornton CC they would look set for a good season.

One win and a defeat is Shelf FC Res start and could face a tough test when they host Sowerby Bridge Res.

Friday night Shelf FC host a Shelf United side making their seasonal debut and it could be a tight affair.

Sowerby Bridge had a very good opening day win at AFC Crossleys and could collect another three points from their game with a Hebden Royd Red Star side that suffered a heavy defeat last week.

Midgley United had a good win last week and look likely to be too strong for Sowerby United. Greetland travel to Northowram where they can register their second win of the season.

Results in the First Division and second games on Saturday can throw some light on who the promotion chasers could be.
