Shaymen draw latest friendly at Frickley

An error from goalkeeper Steve Drench saw FC Halifax Town draw 1-1 at Frickley on Saturday.

Town had taken the lead through Jordan Burrow midway through the first-half from Connor Hughes’ cross.

Before then, Jordan Sinnott and Burrow had both gone close to scoring, and after the opener, Burrow and Liam King had good chances to extend Town’s lead.

Frickely’s Tyler Williams spurned a good chance after the interval before Town’s Richard Peniket wasted a chance to score Halifax’s second.

Nathan Curtis looked to have squandered Frickley’s big chance of equalising when he missed a golden opportunity from inside the area but a long ball forward by Frickley’s Greg Pearson caught out Drench and bounced over him and into the net.
