Shaymen Memories: When Halifax beat Chorley on this day in 2017 to seal promotion to the National League

It was seven years ago today that FC Halifax Town beat Chorley 2-1 at The Shay to earn promotion into the National League.

Adam Blakeman cancelled out Kevin Roberts’ opener but Scott Garner scored the winner in extra-time in-front of 7,920 fans at The Shay.

The Halifax team that day was – Sam Johnson, Kevin Roberts, Scott Garner, Nathan Hotte, Matty Brown, Josh Wilde (Tom Denton 24), Matty Kosylo, David Lynch (Danny Clarke 79), Joran Sinnott, Dion Charles (Cliff Moyo 63), Richard Peniket. Subs not used: Steven Drench, Adam Morgan.
