The former Newcastle United and Seaton Delaval player had been heavily linked with Neil Aspin’s side in recent days.

Maguire, a self-employed plumber, scored 31 goals in 56 games for Spartans in the latest Evo-Stik Northern Premier season. His side just missed the play-offs, finishing sixth.

The 22-year-old has been the Supporters’ Club player of the season for the last three years and played for the England C representative side.

He has been Blyth’s top scorer for the last two seasons and part of the league’s team of the year in 2014.

Blyth reached the third round of the FA Cup last season, eventually losing to Championship side Birmingham City.

Maguire scored five goals during that run - two against Darlington and Altrincham and one against Skelmersdale.
