Rob Brown

Man of the match - Sam Johnson gets my vote this week. The wind was dreadful in the first half, he made light work of the difficult conditions with a number of clean catches from corners and crosses into the box. He made a great save from the free kick in the lead up to Torquay’s winner. A much improved display.

Moment of the match - There were three good chances to equalise in the last minute of injury time, one was blocked with good defending, the other hit the bar through bad luck and the final attempt was wasted with poor finishing. The Shaymen deserved a point from the game.

Moan of the match - Torquay are not a great side but have somehow managed to take six points of the Shaymen this season. There are much better sides that we’ve put to the sword this season. It feels like one that’s got away.

Man of match - Plenty of players off the pace this week. Nathan Clarke did well enough, so he gets my vote. Nathan always gives his best, and he obviously cares about the club. That’s good enough for me.

Moment of match - Jack Redshaw almost rescued a point, hitting the woodwork twice in quick succession. Unfortunately it was a case of too little, too late.

Moan of match - Poor substitutions didn’t help our cause, particularly with Rodney taken off. He was the one looking most likely to score, but replacing him and not his inept partner just left us toothless.
