Bolton joined ex-Town boss Neil Aspin at Gateshead in the summer after helping Town win the FA Trophy at Wembley in May.

The 23-year-old has been an ever-present for Gateshead this season and was signed three times by Aspin while at Halifax, twice on loan and finally permanenetly, from Macclesfield.

Gateshead are believed to have raised their original offer by 50 per cent, but Town are believed to have asked for double that fee again.
