A first half penalty gave the visitors the early advantage at Aldborough Road, but goals from James McDaid and Joe Knowlson either side of half time handed Daz Ekin’s men a lead they would not relinquish.

McDaid added his second, and ‘Bridge’s third, on 73 minutes before his replacement Jake Fletcher netted eight minutes from time.

A Dave Burniston strike three minutes into stoppage time added a final gloss to the scoreline as ‘Bridge notch their first three points of the season to climb to seventh in the West Yorkshire League Division One table.

In the Premier Division, Wetherby Athletic continued their winning start to the West Yorkshire Association with a 2-0 victory at Pool.

Luke Dubery was given his marching orders inside the first five minutes for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity forcing Jon Maloney to drop back into the back four.

The numerical disadvantage didn’t impact Mark Forster’s men with Tom Hesketh powering home a free-kick in the 30th minute.

Charlie Yates added a second for Wetherby after the break to secure the victory and see his side sit third in the fledgling Premier Division table with maximum points.

Elsewhere, Knaresborough Town Reserves secured their first win on Tuesday night with a 3-2 success at Bardsey.

Danny Fisher-Powell’s late goal was the difference as Bardsey finished the contest with nine men.

Knaresborough were twice pegged back by Bardsey before finding a winner with Pride and Mark Fox putting the visitors ahead.
