York City v FC Halifax Town LIVE

Around 800 Shaymen supporters expected here this evening. A fantastic effort.

In the league this season

York: PL17 W3 D6 L8 F24 A36 GD-12 Pts15

Halifax: PL17 W7 D6 L4 F20 A16 GD4 Pts27

Elsewhere in the National League this afternoon

Fylde winning 2-0 at Gateshead catches the eye doesn’t it!

So does Altrincham winning at Oldham. Hartlepool 0-3 Rochdale at the moment, have to wonder how much longer John Askey will be in position at Hartlepool given that scoreline

Town looking for their fifth straight league win against a York team with only one victory in their last six league outings. On the face of it, you’d think Town have to be fairly strong favourites. If they play as well as they did here last season, and York play as badly, it’ll be a walk in the park for Halifax. York could well be a different prospect though under a good manager in Neal Ardley. Town though have been excellent away from home this season, so there’s no reason for them to feel anything other than confident of getting something. They’re a team in form and a team playing with confidence.

Stephen Parkinson has shown 35 yellow cards and one red card in eight games this season in the National League and Football League Trophy. This will be the first Halifax game he has officiated.
