Young Terriers midfielder Crooks joins Town on loan

n Halifax Town have signed promising young midfielder Matt Crooks on loan from League One neighbours Huddersfield.

And the 18-year-old Terrier will go straight into the squad for the trip to Blue Square Bet leaders Hyde FC.

Crooks was handed his first professional contract by former Huddersfield boss Lee Clark last November, keeping him at the Galpharm Stadium until the summer of 2014.

The Huddersfield-born player began his career at his home town club, spent a number of years at Manchester United’s Academy and returned to West Yorkshire as an under 15.

He is likely to be among the subs at Ewen Fields with Ryan Toulson and Jason St Juste suspended and Lee Gregory injured.
