Crow Nest pair’s grand finale

Julie Langfield, the outgoing Lady Captain at Crow Nest Park, rounded off her year with a convincing victory in yesterday’s last Huddersfield-Halifax Ladies Winter League meeting at Dewsbury.

She and clubmate Ann Stafford, also a past captain at the Hove Edge club, won the greensome stableford with 41 points.

Eighty ladies took part in the final meeting of the season in spring sunshine.

Langfield is also the Winter Alliance chairwoman and she said the five events had run smoothly this season.

She said there had been an excellent number of entries and the venues for events up to March 2017 had already been confirmed.

The first meeting of the 2015/2016 season will be at Meltham on Wednesday, October 21.
