Huddersfield Town: Terriers weakened at back with loss of keeper and defender

Huddersfield Town will be without keeper Alex Smithies and Newcastle loanee defender Tamas Kadar for tomorrow's home game with Colchester - and the foreseeable future.

Smithies is undergoing an operation for his damaged ligaments and could be out for up to two months while Kadar likely to miss the rest of his month with the club after picking up a hamstring injury in Saturday's win at Walsall.

Ian Bennett played in goal in Tuesday's 4-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Carlisle and is set to continue.

"We've seen what Ian Bennett can do and he couldn't have done anything for the goals," said boss Lee Clark. "We know that Ian Bennett is a more than capable goalkeeper.

"The answer isn't to keep delving into the market - these players are good enough, they've under-performed massively on Tuesday..

"I need to find out the reasons why as the manager, and what I'm saying is that I've under-performed as well."
