Home players showed the way when Halifax Ogden hosted the first Huddersfield, Halifax Ladies Winter Alliance meeting of the season.

Melissa Fletcher and Denise Conner took top honours with 39 points in an 18 hole greensomes Stableford which attracted 73 players.

Clubmates Denise Mear and Julie le Pelley took second with 37 points on count back from Crow Nest Park’s Julie Langfield and Van Whitehill.

Many players teed off in still, drizzly conditions with low cloud hanging over the hills but the wind picked up and cleared the clouds, players finishing their rounds in good autumn weather.

The next meeting will be a nine hole four ball better ball Stableford at Todmorden Golf Club on November 30.
