Halifax’s Richard Bitner suffered his first defeat as a professional at the Gorbals Leisure Centre in Glasgow on Saturday night.
He was beaten 39-37 on points by Alexender White, a Scot, over four three minute rounds at welterweight.
White was making it six wins out of seven while Bitner had taken a record of three wins and a draw - all from fights at North Bridge Lesiure Centre, Halifax over the last two years - into the contest.
Also on Saturday, Bitner’s stablemate Tyrone Nurse won the vacant Central Area light welterweight title at Doncaster Dome.
Huddersfield’s Nurse, whose only defeat in 25 pro fights came at the hands of Adil Anwar in the final of a Prizefighter tournament 12 months ago, came out on top when his opponent Joe Elfidh was forced to retire with a shoulder injury in the second round of their scheduled 10 rounder.
